Steve Jobs famously said “stay hungry, stay foolish” in a 2005 commencement speech he made in Stanford University.
Staying hungry is to be open to and seek out new, experiences, and deliberately choose alternative pathways.
The world is an endless buffet of experiences and possibilities. Faced with overwhelming choice, it can be tempting to stick with the known favourites, and not leave room for new things.
Staying hungry means not staying still in our comfort zone - even when we think we already have everything we need. We move forward and try new things as we go, while being thankful for the old favourites. (But not in a pathological, desperately-seeking-more-and-more-to-fill-an-unfillable-hole kind of way.)
