“Wonder is the beginning of wisdom.” -- Greek proverb.
We are a very much a heads-down society. We have smart phones and tablets that connect us to an endless stream of bite-sized input. We have games that addict us to easy inane rewards for repetitive activity and mindless challenges.
How often do we stop to just wonder and ponder? I wonder.
The current social media tools seem trade in-depth relationship building with short, quick, “pats” in the form of fleeting comments and quick reaction to situations.
Will there be enough people with the right nature, skills and inclination to seriously imagine the future to come? Will this/the next generation produce the same calibre of genius that sent humans to the moon?
