Compare and contrast these two current Coke marketing campaigns:
On the left is a customised can featuring the work of a designer in the Audi Fashion Festival. This appealed greatly to me. What a great and simple way to support talent development and market a product at the same time. Well done Coke.
On the right is a new look PET bottle with grip bumps. What a grotesque and stupid attempt to get a little attention. What a waste of plastic (bumps = more plastic required?) Another example of gratuitous dumb “differentiation”. Shame shame shame.
What does this say about Coke’s integrity and authenticity?
I guess these balances out my feelings towards Coke. At least we are not being bombarded with brown squirting liquid.
