All is well. This is just like any normal meeting.
This session is not going well. The one dominant personality is taking over the "discussion" and the others are uncomfortable with going against him.

The participants are engaging in criticism. This will stifle the flow of ideas.
The participants are doing what any sensible professional would do when faced with an irrational and silly idea.

The participants are having fun. They are building on and adding to the idea. Their body language is relaxed.
These people are just wasting time being silly and the facilitator really needs to step in soon and get them back on track.

This is great - there are so many ideas and possibilities.
The session is out of control now and has become aimless. There are loads of ideas but no one is building on any of them.

The facilitator is sharing her/his wisdom with the audience. Brainstorming is different from other business meetings so this level of guidance is invaluable.
The facilitator is taking over the session. No one else is getting a chance to speak or participate.
