1. What if the opposite were true?
2. What if the most absurd position is true?
3. What if the answer lies in a random word, picture etc. Word or picture association.
4. What if you were your enemy? What would you do against your own aims? The opposite of that could be possible solutions.
5. Reword the problem - what if you had to describe your problem to a 10year old, a 70 year old, a Martian.
