Example of the Australian Tax Office receipt showing how your taxes are spent.

Nobody likes paying taxes. Unless we happen to be a huge corporation, we all pay it.

So, it is nice when the tax office shows me, on my receipt, how my taxes are being spent on my community. It is a reminder of why we pay taxes.

It is the small details like this that makes a difference to the customer experience.

Of course, as will all actions, there is the potential to create a negative outcome for some. If I had an issue with spending on welfare, this information may be an unpleasant reminder of how the system doesn’t work the way I want it to. As it is, I am pretty happy that most of my taxes goes to supporting the aged, the disabled, and health.
