Whoever set up these pinball machines at my local shopping centre deserves applause. They clear put some thought and consideration into the activity. They cared about doing something well.
It is all to easy to shove the machines against a wall, plug them in, and go home. This is, after all, a temporary set up as the space is pending renovations.
But no, whoever this person is, they chose to set the machines in a cluster, positioned in the space to create interesting tension with emptiness, and aligned them at an interesting angle facing the main flow of traffic. They also took care to disable the lights above the machines.
These everyday designers do not get enough recognition.
