Good design can often be hidden in plain sight. Especially in situations where in order for the design to work, it must not call attention to itself.

At the ticketing hall in Milan central train station, the schedule display monitors are beautifully mounted onto twin stainless steel poles.

Each pair of poles have been bent to create an "indented" recess for a monitor to sit in. This stopped people catching themselves on the edges of the monitors.

The poles have also been spaced to the exact width of the monitor. This adds added protection without the poles getting in the way of customers looking at the monitor.

It is great to see care and thought put into creating such an elegant and functional design.

Bellissimo!
