Unnamed: I said no
Way back in the very early days of the Internet, a video production company asked me to develop a website for them that will allow them to display their high quality show reels to the world.
After understanding their requirements, I said no to the project.
Video on the web back then would have utterly worked against them. We were talking postage stamp sized results, crappy compression, running at less than half the frame rate of “normal” video, and making customers wait on slow dial-up connections.
Just because we can do something technically does not mean we should. Getting distracted by technology after hours is fun. Getting distracted by technology at a client’s expense is negligence.
