Unnamed: Meaningful and relevant giveaways
A wellbeing company was giving out mouse mats and pens in an attempt to increase sales, without much success.
In one short conversation, I helped them realise that giving out massage gift vouchers would be more effective as it directly exposes the target customers to their services. We also came up with a potential idea for expanding their services significantly beyond their current position, with only minor changes to their operations.
The use of mouse mats and pens particularly missed the point, as during our conversation I discovered that the target audience were away from their computers and desks most of the time.
They had the pieces of the answers all along, but it needed structured discussions with a third party like me who can see the patterns and create the conceptual linkages to reveal the true potential in their business.
