Psychological safety from child psychology applied to Agile.

This chart summarises the creation of psychological safety for Agile (and indeed, any creative problem-solving) exercises and draws from roots in Attachment Theory and child psychology.

Creativity requires play (playful discovery of situations and exploration of possibilities.) Effective play is really only possible when we feel psychologically safe to do so. Creating a psychologically safe space is what parents do for their children, to best enable learning play. Facilitators and trainers can do the same for their teams.
