This is one of the monitors in a local McDonald's. Do you notice anything odd about the display?
It has been like this since I first came here over 5 years ago. The vertical white line pans left and right endlessly. Order numbers appear behind the words “SmartImage On” and “SmartImage Off.”
The monitor has been set on Demo mode. A mode intended for use on the tech shop retail floor to show off the SmartImage function of the Philips monitor.
I don’t think any of the McDonald’s staff, nor the owners, notice this missetting. I wonder how many customers it has confused over the years, however slightly.
Details like this detract from the overall customer experience.
And if they don’t notice this obvious thing, what else are they not noticing?
