Good EQ starts with good self awareness. Starting an inner-state diary is a useful way to practice self-awareness.
- Set the stopwatch or timer on your phone; say once every 2-4 hours.
- When the timer goes off, stop what you are doing for a moment and check in with your inner state.
- What thoughts are in your head?
- How does your body feel?
- Where are the feelings localised on your body?
- How is your breathing?
- What about your heart rate?
- At the end of this reflection exercise, take a photo of your surrounding.
