I registered to attend a TEDxSingapore event last week.
The form wanted three things people should talk to me about on my name tag. These would be the three things that matter most to me.
- Design Thinking
- Business Innovation
- Empowerment
That was a good moment of clarity. These are the things I am most passionate about. I know “Design Thinking” and “Business Innovation” are in the description of my blog, and many other things I have written about. But it was still a moment of stark clarity to write these things down.
- Design Thinking – because creative problem solving is the most powerful (fun and engaging) tool we all have within to change our lives for the better or worse.
- Business Innovation – because business is the most powerful world-shaping force today, and we owe it to ourselves and the generations that come after us to create more humane, more ethical and 360° sustainable businesses. Innovation requires creativity which in turn demands a respectful, purposeful and meaningful business culture. How about that for a win-win!
- Empowerment – because I love supporting, encouraging, enabling people to do what they are here to do, and be who they want to be. I do it by helping businesses innovate, work better, create meaningful work, strive for excellence, develop great products and wonderful services… I do it by sharing my thoughts, experience and ideas through my writing and speaking.
2010 is shaping up to be a year of clarity and affirmation for me.
