Wow – what a great (sub)title!
Business is personal. When I first started saying this in 2003, people were amused or sceptical. It is good to know that other (more notable!) people have said it before me, and that many more voices are saying the same thing today – I keep seeing this phrase in various books.
How many times have we all heard the opposite: “Don’t take it personally, it’s only business.” Why is this always said as if it is a perfectly reasonable excuse for bad/unethical/immoral behaviour?

The follow-on I heard from Michael Port (first) was:
All business problems are personal problems.
Seems to be true when you get down to it – it’s emotions/thinking issues/stuff that gets in the way of the right decisions being made and the right actions being taken.
Companies don’t exist without people, but we tend to treat them as entities in themselves.
