Jackie Chan’s restaurant

One of Jackie Chan’s restaurants in Hong Kong not only serves good food fast, they also offer a phone charging service.

You set up your phone to charge (in a lockable cabinet) as you walk into the restaurant. When you are done feeding your tummy, your phone is full too.

What a brilliant insight into the customers’ smallest need. And it seem to be well appreciated too.

What does this say about cafes in Australia where you still have to pay for Internet access by the minute in exorbitant Telstra rip-off rates?

(From a recent National Geographic Channel’s Megacities programme on Hong Kong.)

Thank you unwired we don’t have to put up Telstra incredible wi-fi rate any more. They are not everywhere but our local pub Kelly’s on King got us hooked by having it. And we call it Afternoon Office™.

And because it is the Afternoon Office™ people will be able to justify more time spent at the pub. Thus good for business, and good for building a community.
