It’s a good idea and I think the concept works.. a couple of themed malls exist in Singapore. Places like Lucky Plaza are known for their competitive prices on watches and consumer electronic goods, although I think it’s more a happy accident than a planned themed mall.
Funan brands itself as the Digital Life Mall and Sim Lim calls itself ‘Singapore’s Largest Electronics & Computer Centre’
The Forum is also a place for young families to go an with indoor playground (which costs $10/year for membership) educational services, early childhood play gyms, kids clothing store, a large Toys R Us and a centre stage for holiday entertainment. For hip mums and dads there’s a range of designer fashion stores as well.
I knew about Funan and Sim Lim - and just never thought of them as themed malls! What does that say about familiarity blindness?!!!
