Tap user interface failure

Below are 6 photos of the tap attached to my bath, taken from various angles.

As you can see, there are two water outlets - one is the shower head on a flexible hose (the shower head is the big baton-like object on the right of the whole assembly), the other is the spout.

Water flow is controlled by the handle - lift up and down to control the volume of flow, twist left for hot, and right for cold. So far so good.

So how the hell do I switch the water outlet from the shower head to the spout?

Apart from the handle (lift and twist) there are no other levers or knobs or buttons. I have been living with this tap for 5 weeks now. And I still cannot figure it out. Any ideas?

What would be the purpose to design something that is deliberately obscure to operate?
