I love it when traditional industry boundaries are blurred by win-win grassroots changes. A recent example is TV shows that promote new musical talent – Roswell and the animated series Daria comes to mind.

As mainstream radio (in the US) became more conservative and risk-averse, new artists are finding TV shows more receptive as platforms to showcase their work. And it seemed to work out well for the TV people too.
Starbucks also promote emerging artists it through their independent music label.
