Sweet little words

Small things can and do make a difference. I found myself smiling at this label on a new box of Splenda today:

Exceeding a customer’s expectations, making a small difference in someone’s day, need not be a hard thing.

    Hi Zern,

yes – a fine thing. Maestro used to put a fun-size box of Smarties into each of the boxes containing their modems – I remember the sheer pleasure of finding them was really quite surprising. In that case, the Free Prize Inside was just that – a small free prize.

    Best regards, Andrew

Indeed – go the free prize.

Sun Microsystems used to (maybe still does) pack big purple bars of Cadbury’s chocolate with their servers. There’s even a neat slot in the packing foam to hold the chocolate!

(Purple was one of Sun’s corporate colours.)
