Traditional org chart vs value nets

We are all used to seeing organisation pyramidal charts that look like this:

Here is another “model” I call the value net. I think value nets are the emerging new way of working. Each value net is made up of a mesh of various discrete value chains. Every individual (represented by a circle) is a potential member of this value net; everyone has something of value to offer.

Individuals can choose who they want to work with, based on both their value offerings and who they are as people (their ethics and philosophy). The top-down imposed “corporate mission” is replaced with the laws of attraction at the individual values level.

A value net can be applied to a single business, a non-profit organisation, a network of professionals, a consortium of organisations, a large multinational corporation, and indeed to the global community. It applies where value is exchanged.
