Fostering creativity

Richard Florida in a recent article in AFR BOSS magazine (thanks Will!) on Creativity as a key factor in the new way of economic growth, and how to facilitate the rise of the Creative Class: “creativity resides in everyone everywhere, so building a community of ideas means empowering all people with the ability to express and use the genius of their own creativity”.

Most businesses today are are still goverened by “industrial organisational techniques” which are by their nature anti-thinking, and therefore anti-creativity. Mainstream and conservative management thinking still focus on control as opposed free thinking.
